Home Opener Dress Down Day for Cleveland

A great way to show your team spirit and support Rescue Mission of the Mahoning Valley!

Will your group, school, company or team host a team colors dress down day?

• Friday, April 5th for the Pirates Home Opener (and/or)
• Monday, April 8th for Cleveland’s Home Opener

So even if you can’t be at the ballfields, you can cheer on your favorite team while making a difference for up to 186 men, women and children who stay at Rescue Mission of the Mahoning Valley nightly.

How does it work?

1. Sign up your group, company or school to participate by downloading and printing this form or by visiting www.rescuemissionmv.org/homeopener. 
2. Promote the event to your friends and coworkers.
   1. Here is the flyer for the Cleveland Home Opener on Monday April 8, 2024 and the flyer for the Pittsburgh Home Opener on Friday April 5, 2024.       
   2. Be sure to send emails to get your coworkers to participate, share on your social media, too. Here is some sample copy to cut and paste in emails:

Would you like to participate in our Home Opener Dress Down Day to support Rescue Mission of the Mahoning Valley on Friday April 5th (Pittsburgh) and/or Monday April 8th (Cleveland)?   Please consider making a small contribution to the Mission in exchange for wearing jeans and your baseball team colors to work! The Rescue Mission is so important to our community. They provided 80,808 overnights to men, women and children in need last year and served 36,399 meals. 

Feel free to turn your donation in to ___________ or you can give online at www.rescuemissionmv.org/opener. They appreciate each and every gift of any amount! Let’s welcome spring and have some fun!

On the day of the home opener… here is what you do!

1. Dress in your team colors (Cleveland 4/8 and/or Pittsburgh 4/5) and collect donations from the others that do as well.
2. Be sure to snap lots of pics. Email or text them to the Mission for us to share on our social media (tjones@rescuemissionmv.org / 330.610.0024).
3. Share your photos on your social media with the hashtag #homeopenerRMMV
4. Mail, drop off or donate online your gifts  ( www.rescuemissionmv.org/opener) for the Mission and know that you have done something wonderful to help feed and shelter those in need!
