Grocery Outlet’s Austintown Grand Opening Includes Donation to Rescue Mission of the Mahoning Valley

The Rescue Mission of the Mahoning Valley was honored to be part of the grand opening celebration for the new Grocery Outlet Bargain Market in Austintown on Thursday, October 16. As part of the event, independent store owners Eric and Sarah Senges presented a $1,000 donation to support the Mission’s work serving individuals and families experiencing homelessness.

John Muckridge, President and CEO of the Rescue Mission, accepted the donation on behalf of the organization during the ribbon-cutting ceremony held at 600 Mahoning Ave. Mission. Rescue Mission of Mahoning Valley representatives were grateful to attend and connect with community members and leaders who came out to support the opening.

“We’re grateful to Eric and Sarah for including the Mission in this special day,” said Lynn Wyant, Rescue Mission’s Chief Development Officer. “Their generosity helps us continue providing meals, shelter, and care to those who need it most. Their support began with the grand opening of the Boardman Grocery Outlet and has continued ever since. Just this summer, they completed a campaign that resulted in over $3,000 worth of food donated to the Mission. We’re so thankful for their ongoing commitment to giving back.”
