Here to Promote Accountability

Did you know that over 80 of the men who stayed with us in March and April were employed? We are extremely thankful to the amazing buisinesses in The Valey who offer employment to our clients and support the Rescue Mission of Mahoning Valley.

The Mission is here to:

(1) Proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ,

(2) Promote Accountability to help our guests grow out of homelessness and

(3) Provide food and emergency shelter.

So believe us when we tell you, our Mission isn’t a flophouse.

Our guests are assisted and challenged during their stay. And when we identify barriers to employment, we work together with the community to help our guests overcome them. Sometimes a client may need to obtain a birth certificate or identification. Or maybe they may need help with bus passes to get to and from the Mission during their first few weeks on the job. Broken relationships, past legal issues, addictions, money problems, mental health struggles… it seems that there are no two people who find themselves homeless for the exact same reasons.

Thankfully, the Rescue Mission of Mahoning Valley is here because the Lord has blessed us and our community has equipped us to care for our guests and be part of their story. Please keep all of our working men and women in your prayers. For some it has been quite some time since they held a job or looked for work. Your prayers and partnership provide so much! Thanks Mahoning Valley!
