Kindness is alive and well in the next generation.

A group of compassionate 4th grade students from Taft Elementary School recently partnered with the Rescue Mission of Mahoning Valley to help local guests in need through a special donation drive.

Led by teacher Diana Hatszegi, the students collected individually wrapped snacks and created handwritten notes of encouragement to be included in lunches distributed by the Mission.

“Service projects like this help students understand that even small acts of kindness can make a big difference in someone’s life,” said Mrs. Hatszegi. “I’m incredibly proud of their compassion and willingness to serve others.”

Our Mission Ambassador, Crystal Eckman, also had the opportunity to visit the classroom and share how simple acts of generosity can bring hope to people facing difficult circumstances.

We are so grateful for these students, their teacher, and everyone who helped make this project possible. Thank you for showing our community what compassion in action looks like!
