“Today was a real blessing. Not only did all these wonderful Walmart employees present a $20,000 check to the Mission to use to purchase food for our kitchen, but they spent almost two hours with us learning about the Rescue Mission of Mahoning Valley. They took a tour and chatted about ways that they and their stores can volunteer at the shelter in the future. They really took time to get to know our team at the Mission. They listened to some testimonies from those we serve. We are so thankful.”Lynn Wyant, Chief Development Officer for the Rescue Mission of Mahoning Valley
On Friday, January 12, 2024, at the Rescue Mission of the Mahoning Valley, we had the pleasure of hosting our local Walmart representatives, who presented the mission with a check for $20,000 as a donation from their Strategic Initiative Fund Grant. This incredible gift will enable us to feed our guests with fresh food from local stores, strengthening our community, and ensuring nutritious meals. Our CEO, John Muckridge III, gave them a tour and explained our mission. We are so thankful to Walmart for their kindness and partnership.
