Mike Byers, Kitchen Director, shares, “It’s a blessing as we celebrate our Savior Jesus Christ’s resurrection that we can serve a delicious meal in a beautiful facility thanks to Him.” Lynn Wyant, CFRE is the Mission’s Chief Development Officer and she shared “because of the Lord’s faithfulness and the kindness our Valley pours out on those who need our help at the Mission, meals like this are possible. To know that there is an Easter meal waiting for anyone who would like one is such a blessing. We can’t wait to share everything that our donors have provided.”
We remain committed to serving those in need and are grateful for the generous support of our community. A donation of just $2.47 provides one meal for someone facing hunger. Your contribution enables us to offer meals and shelter to up to 186 individuals each night. To make a donation visit www.RescueMissionMV.org.

About The Rescue Mission of the Mahoning Valley Since 1893, because of God’s grace, the Rescue Mission of the Mahoning Valley has partnered with our generous community to care for neighbors who are hungry and/or experiencing homelessness. The Mission proclaims the Gospel of Jesus Christ while promoting accountability and providing essential services. Because of the Lord’s provision poured out through our caring donors, we provide:
- Free Shelter: Our 50,000-square-foot building at 1300 Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. in Youngstown, Ohio, offers free emergency overnight and transitional shelter (100 beds for men and 86 beds for women and families, including children).
- Free Meals: Not just a soup kitchen—full and nutritious meals are served to overnight guests and offered to the public, 365 days a year.
- Pre-Employment Assistance and Biblical Guidance: Guests receive support to gain stable employment and grow out of homelessness. They may also attend Bible studies, daily chapel services, and receive Christian discipleship during their stay.
