One small donation can make a big difference!

We’re excited to share that Boardman Grocery Outlet’s Annual Independence from Hunger Campaign returns June 24 through July 31, benefiting the Rescue Mission of the Mahoning Valley.

Thanks to the leadership of owners Eric and Sarah Senges, Grocery Outlet customers will once again have the opportunity to help fight hunger right at the checkout register.

A group of compassionate 4th grade students from Taft Elementary School recently partnered with the Rescue Mission of Mahoning Valley to help local guests in need through a special donation drive.

Led by teacher Diana Hatszegi, the students collected individually wrapped snacks and created handwritten notes of encouragement to be included in lunches distributed by the Mission.

In celebration of National Volunteer Week, the Rescue Mission of Mahoning Valley is proud to announce its Annual Volunteer Appreciation Week, taking place from April 20 through April 25, 2026. This week-long celebration is dedicated to recognizing the contributions of our volunteers, whose selfless efforts have made a significant impact on the Mission and the community we serve.

The Rescue Mission of Mahoning Valley is grateful to the Student Nurses Association at Youngstown State University’s James and Coralie Centofanti School of Nursing for their support throughout the year.

Through several fundraisers, the group raised $500 to benefit the Mission. On Monday, members visited to present their donation and take a tour, giving them the opportunity to see firsthand the impact of their efforts.

Their generosity and willingness to engage with the Mission’s work are greatly appreciated and help make a meaningful difference in the community.
