Two days before their grand opening at the Eastwood Mall, Boscov’s is holding a special shopping day called “Shop for a Cause” Charity Day on Thursday, October 7th. Not only is this a fun shopping experience at the new Boscov’s, but the opportunity to help raise money for the Rescue Mission of Mahoning Valley is available too!

The Rescue Mission of Mahoning Valley is collecting donations in exchange for $5 Shopping Passes to the Boscov’s Charity Day!

Did you know that over 80 of the men who stayed with us in March and April were employed? We are extremely thankful to the amazing buisinesses in The Valey who offer employment to our clients and support the Rescue Mission of Mahoning Valley.

The Mission is here to:

(1) Proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ,

(2) Promote Accountability to help our guests grow out of homelessness and

(3) Provide food and emergency shelter.

2 Run 4 Mattresses Fundraiser


For one 24-hour period on Saturday, March 13, 2021, Rick Blair and others plan to run one mile, every hour, for 24 hours to bring awareness to the Supply Our Shelter campaign for the Rescue Mission of the Mahoning Valley.Rick and the others hope to raise money to aid in the purchase of the 185 much-needed new mattresses that will be placed in the new Rescue Mission. Rick Blair explains how the idea formed.

Ground has been broken to Move Our Mission!


On October 31, 2019, a ceremonial ground breaking took place to Move Our Mission and build a replacement homeless shelter in Mahoning County. Since the early 1970s the Rescue Mission of Mahoning Valley has been located in the former African American YMCA building located at 962 Martin Luther King Jr Blvd in Youngstown. Today was the first step in an anticipated 12 month building project to relocate to a single story building designed to care for men,
